Winter Season

Hallett Cove Netball Club is affiliated with the South Australian Uniting Church Netball Association (SAUCNA) and winter season is the main focus of the year.

Registration for winter season takes place following the AGM each year. This usually occurs early in February.
Only players who register at the registration session are guaranteed positions in a team. Late registrations are only accepted if there are vacancies within the teams.

Training for the winter season usually begins early in March on a Tuesday night at our home courts located adjacent to the Cove Sports and Community Club, Oval Road, Hallett Cove.
Initially all players train together as a squad within each age group. About three weeks of squad training will take place before players are placed into individual teams and coaches appointed. Training for all teams then continues throughout the season on Tuesday nights.

Junior Teams - Up to an including 15 & Under
Play home and away games on Saturday afternoons. Court locations for away games depend on the teams playing within the grade.
Matches are played at 12:30pm, 2:00pm or 3:30pm.

Open and 17 & Under Teams
Play on Saturday afternoons at the SAUCNA courts at the corner of Greenhill Road and Anzac Highway.
Matches are played at 12:30pm, 2:00pm and 3:30pm and each grade can have a combination of time slots.

All players are required to wear the registered club uniform - navy bodysuit with pink and white swirls.

Winter Season 2018

Registration

Registration will take place on Sunday 4th February, from the conclusion of the AGM until 5:00pm.
No registrations will taken on the day prior to the AGM or while the AGM is in progress.

Registration is only complete when a completed registration form and $50 deposit have been received by the club on or before 4th February.
Please ensure that all aspects of the form have been completed and signed correctly.

If you are unable to attend our Registration Day, please ensure that you make arrangements for your registration form and deposit to be given to the Club Secretary prior to 4th February.

Players who do not formally register (submit a completed registration form and $50 deposit) on 4th February 2018, or prior to this date, will not be guaranteed a position in a team.

Fees

Proposed fees for 2018 (to be ratified at the AGM) are:
Juniors (8, 9, 11, 13, and 15 & Under)  -  $135
17 & Under and Seniors  -  $145

$50 deposit (payable by cash or cheque) will be deducted from the season fees. 
Deposit can be paid via EFT prior to Registration Day, but proof of transfer must be shown when submitting registration form.
Note: Only registrations with the accompanying $50 deposit will be accepted.

Balance of fees will be due no later than Monday 19th February.
The balance must be paid by electronic fund transfer. Bank details will be available on the invoice for the balance of fees.

Sports Vouchers
Primary school aged children are eligible to use a Sports Voucher to cover $50 of their fees (providing they have not already claimed a Sports Voucher at any other sport club in the 2018 calendar year).
If you intend using a Sport Voucher for 2018 with HCNC, please submit this at our Registration Day as well as submitting the $50 deposit.
Sports Vouchers cannot be used for payment of deposit.


Uniforms

Anyone requiring uniforms for the 2018 winter season (including windcheaters, tops and socks) must place an order on Registration Day.
The club will place an  order with our supplier shortly after Registration Day.
Without placing an order on Registration Day we cannot guarantee that we will have stock available in the correct size in time for the start of the season.

All orders will then be required to be paid for via EFT and then collected at one of the following training nights - Tuesday 27th March or 3rd April.

No uniform purchases, orders or enquiries will be available during squad training sessions.

Our bodysuit and club socks are the only items of compulsory uniform.

Anyone wishing to sell second hand bodysuits, please bring them to Registration Day.


Squad Training

It is important that all players make every effort to attend Squad Training as it is form these training sessions that players are placed into teams.
A player's lack of attendance may impact upon the team they are placed in.

Sunday 25 February and Sunday 04 March
8:30am - 10:00am     13 & Under (born 2005 & 2006)
10:00am - 11:30am   15 & Under (born 2003 & 2004)

Tuesday 27 February and Tuesday 06 March
6:00pm - 7:30pm   11 & under (born 2007 & 2008)
7:30pm - 9:00pm   17 & under (born 2001 & 2002)  and  Open (born 2000 or earlier)

** Additional Squad Training may be required on Tuesday 13 March for any or all of the above grades if deemed necessary by the Grading Committee, or if training is cancelled due to hot weather. Any affected age groups will be notified by email.

6:00pm - 7:00pm   8 & Under (born 2010 & 2011)  and  9 & under (born 2009)


Extreme Weather
In the event of extreme weather occurring or being forecast, the current weather conditions and weather forecast will be monitored by the Committee. If a decision is made to cancel Squad Training, it will be communicated via the club's Facebook page and via Team App by 8:00am on the Sunday and by 5:00pm on the Tuesday.


Team Placements

Players are placed into teams, first by age group, and then by position and skill level.
If you have anything you wish for the Grading Committee to consider when putting teams together, please submit this in writing (via email) by Monday 19 February. This will be taken into consideration by the Grading Committee but cannot be guaranteed.

Notes written on top of registration forms or verbal requests will not be accepted.

Team Training

Once Squad Training is complete, all players will then commence team training on Tuesday 20 March.
Players will be advised of their team members and coach on this night.

Please Note:  
TRAINING IS COMPULSORY for all players who play at Hallett Cove Netball Club.
If you have other commitments (work, social, school, uni, sport etc) which may conflict with training times and your availability for all matches, please strongly consider your registration with Hallett Cove Netball Club.


Volunteers

Hallett Cove Netball Club relies on volunteers to allow its members to play netball each year. 
Each team requires a coach and a team manager, and the club needs a supply of umpires to umpire each week.
Umpires, coaches and team managers are essential to the running of our netball club, and while we have a small group of dedicated people who continue to contribute to these roles we always appreciate and welcome more support.

If you are interest in coaching, being a team manager or umpiring, or would like more information about taking on one of these roles, please indicate your interest on Registration Day.

SAUCNA offer umpiring and coaching clinics throughout the season to provide support with these roles.
HCNC runs an umpire training program throughout the season for those new to umpiring.

In previous years, we have successfully had a number of senior players take on a 'trainer'role with some of our junior teams.
If you would like to support our teams in this way, please indicate your interest at Registration Day.

Please Note:
Scoring, timing and canteen duties are the responsibility of each team and all families are required to contribute to these roles in accordance with their team's roster.
